Friday 31 October St. Vincent and Suspended Bridge

St. Vincent's Home for Handicapped Children asked us to discuss funding a walk-in refrigerator.  We went to Ein Karem, turned up the hill at Mary's Spring, and drove up the narrow winding road to the home.

The building is a wonderful old building that has gardens all around for the children in their wheel chairs.  There is also a beautiful view of Ein Karem.   Ten to twelve of our students go each Sunday they are available to help with the children.
The sisters invited us into their private living room to discuss their needs.  Sister Susan, Sister Pascal, and Linda.  They are such good women and have such a good spirit about them.

There is a pedestrian and light rail bridge in West Jerusalem that looks like a harp.  It is a landmark for the area. It was controversial because it cost so much and the architecture does not fit the city.
We drove past it on our way back from Ein Karem.  It was Sabbath night so there were no trains running.

That evening was Halloween so Blaine and I dressed up as Palestinian Boy Scouts with uniforms we got when we went to the Boy Scout Camp.  The party was in the garage at the Jerusalem Center.  They had a costume contest, dancing, and lots of treats.
