Saturday 13 December 2014 St James Church door, Last Supper night in auditorium, apartment 206

Blaine delivered invitations in the City to several of the Christian churches.  This is a door to the entrance of the Armenian Church of St. James. Blaine's invitations were by cold contact and met with several greetings.  At the Church of our Redeemer and the Church at Saint Anne, the reception was something like "Oh I love your students.  They come here to sing.  I wish we could come to the concert".  At St James, the father was cordial but uninterested. At Notre Dame, Dormition Abbey,  and Our Saviour Church, the fathers were not there but someone offered to phone the fathers.  Blaine simply left the invitation rather than disturb the fathers.  At the Syrian Church, where Dan Belnap once had a rough time with one of the sisters, Blaine was met by a priest where the exchange went something like this:  "What do you want!". Blaine explained he wanted to leave an invitation for someone at the church, to which he replied "I don't have anything to do with that" afterwhich he turned his back and ignored any attempt at further conversation.

We had our "Upper Room Evening"  where students read scriptures pertaining to the Last Supper and remembered the events of Christ's last hours.  They set the stage as it may have been at the Last Supper.  It is called a triclinium, or a three-sided table.  The table is on the floor and the apostles would have reclined on their sides to eat.

There were musical numbers as well as scriptures.

I never get tired of our view of the Old City.  The last thing I do at night and the first thing in the morning is to look out at my own personal view.
