Some of the Dead Sea Scrolls will be on display in Salt Lake City beginning this month, so KSL sent a team to Israel to do a story on the scrolls. They interviewed people at Hebrew University and the Israel Museum. They interviewed David Seely who is a BYU professor teaching this year at the Jerusalem Center. David helped translate the scrolls, including the Temple Scroll.
A few weeks ago David told us a story about the Book of Mormon that was interesting. During the time of Lehi, sacrifices could be made only at the temple in Jerusalem. The Book of Mormon records that Lehi made sacrifices after traveling away from Jerusalem. This seemed to be evidence against the Book of Mormon. When the Temple Scroll was translated, we learned sacrifices were allowed outside of Jerusalem if someone journeyed at least 3 days away. According to the Book of Mormon, Lehi traveled 3 days from Jerusalem, pitched his tent, built a stone altar, and made an offering.
The KSL team interviewed Blaine and Linda about their hosting and humanitarian work for the Jerusalem Center. Kevin (cameraman), Blaine, Linda, Candice Madsen (producer), and Carol Makita (reporter). We thought we interviewed about like a piece of cardboard, so we don't think we will be on TV anytime soon. They were personable and down to earth. Candice is Anne Marie's friend.
