Tuesday 24 February 2015 Beit Safafa Women's Society, Jerusalem Center farewell dinner

We took the Smiths to Bethlehem to pay the electric bill.  We showed them where to park in Jerusalem and how to walk through the border crossing.  The electric company is just a few blocks from the branch house.

We then went to Beit Saffa Women's Society where we attended a cooking class presented by an organization supported by the European Union.

They made me this embroidered bag with the BYU JC logo on it.  Jihad (Zaidoun's wife) gave it to me.

Blaine made pastries while Jeff enjoyed it.

Joyce and the women rolled the dough out.

Then they put them in the fry pan.

The teacher lives in the West Bank.

They rolled out the dough and then put in a meat, spinach, or cheese filling.

Jihad and her son

We all enjoyed the finished product.
The Beit Safafa Women's Society had a great time.

That afternoon we went to Spafford School to introduce the Smiths to the students and staff.

We really had a lot of fun with the Palestinian and BYU students.

  1. These pictures are most interesting. We need to talk about some of them. My favorite is Jehad (Zidon's wife). She is truly one of the most saintly women I have ever met. I loved meeting her.
