Sunday December 22, 2013 Carillon Bells and Hezekiah's Tunnel

We went to the YMCA with Claytons to play the Carillon Bells. I took a picture of everyone but Anne Marie, who played first.

After the Carillon Bells, we saw a movie at the City of David and hiked through Hezekiah's tunnel. Kristin and Hannah especially liked the glasses for watching the3-D movie.

Down the stairs and into the water of Hezekiah's tunnel. The tunnel was built when Hezekiah learned about a planned invasion of his city. The water supply was outside the city walls. They built the secret underground tunnel through the bedrock underneath the city to the pool of water outside the city walls so they could have water during the siege. The enemy didn't learn about the tunnel and was unable to conquer the city.

The police stopped us on the walk from City of David back to our cars at Zion's Gate. The police shut down traffic on the street while they were investigating an abandoned package. We went into this store and waited until they police gave the all-clear.
