Pope Francis came to Jerusalem and stayed in the Papal house next door to the Jerusalem Center. They used the Learning Resource Center (art museum) for command central. When we got back from our field trip to Turkey, there were 50-100 Israeli Police, Vatican Security, and their equivalent of the FBI working out of our building. The 8th floor east end was off limits. Some of the Vatican people stayed at the Jerusalem Center on the 5th floor and the 2nd floor with us. Our security at the JC was over the Israeli police on the JC property. The Israeli police were stationed outside. Rumor has it that one night one of the Israeli police fell asleep at his post. One of the JC security men (Palestinian) woke him up before morning so he didn't get in trouble.
A blimp with a drone attached to it flew overhead the whole time Pope Francis was here.
One evening we went out on the back stairs with the Belnaps to see if we could see the Pope drive by. We think this is the car he was riding in.

Police were on the rooftops of all the buildings nearby.
Helicopters circled the sky.
