Part of our assignment here at the Jerusalem Center is to put together kits with the students for distribution to worthy causes. This day, the kits went to a Palestinian organization. The driver brought his little guy and he was a great help. We put the kits together and distribute them from the 7th floor garage.
That evening, June 4, we had the Jerusalem representative of the Vatican, Your Excellency Monsignor Giuseppe Lazzarotto speak at forum. His assistant Father Jacque and the secretary came with him. The Catholic residential headquarters is the building east of the JC. When the Pope came in April, the base of security operations was on our 8th floor in the art gallery. The JC developed a good relationship with our neighbors at this time and invited them over to meet our students. We went over to their home through the back way last Fri. night to meet them personally.
Your Excellency spoke about having love for our fellow man and avoiding extremism. He has a nice way of interacting individually as well as a quick and infectious laugh.
