Friday went to the Bell Caves named because of the way they quarried the limestone. They went through a hole in the ground and then flared out the chiseling thus making a dome shape. They did this about 700-800 AD.
The caves have great acoustics.

This is a carob plant. It is consistent in its weight and was used as a unit of weight. Thus the unit of a carrot to weigh diamonds and other gems.
Lisa and Ellie are showing us where the doves live, columbariums. They carve alcoves in the side of these underground caves where the doves nest. The doves are used for food, sacrifice, and their droppings for fertilizer.
Talmage and Jackson threw slingshots in the Valley of Elah where David met Goliath. They were actually quite good at this. Better than most of the students were when we came with them before.
I needed a little help. We stopped alongside the road and went to a dry riverbed that had plenty of stones.
